Spencer Ocarinas are hand crafted vessel flutes which feature a patented design for exceptional tone quality. Each one is constructed of smooth pottery clay and is carefully voiced and tuned for a clear, dynamic sound. After several days of drying, the ocarina is fired in a kiln at 1,900 degrees Fahrenheit. A non-toxic ceramic glaze is applied to the instrument and it is fired once more for lasting beauty and durability. Made in North Carolina, USA.
"While it is a subjective question, I really do think this is what an ocarina is supposed to sound/play like. Such a beautiful tone, and I've never been able to get the high F on an Alto C so clearly."
David Eric Ramos, professional ocarinist and Youtuber
"Just wanted to say the ocarina and carry case arrived safely yesterday. I opened the package to see it and play it immediately, and I am thrilled. The ocarina sounds so beautiful and I am excited to get practicing. Thank you so much."
Amy Turk, professional harpist
"Your double ocarina is easily one of the best in the world of its kind and beautifully designed for the serious player. The chamber balance is excellent and a big selling point for me was the right thumb hole, giving me that option I don't have on other doubles."
Connor Keene, flautist
"I just received my Virtuoso ocarina! What an amazing instrument! I just played for about 2 hours and I just love it. It's a very expressive, dynamic ocarina with a very sweet tone. The thing I love the most is the comfortability and the second thumb hole which lets me play this ocarina exactly as a single chambered one."
Juan Diaz, bassist for G.L.I.T.C.H
"I am writing to tell you that the ocarina arrived this morning and I must say, it is better than I could have imagined and is absolutely beautiful in every way! It has already become one of my favorite ocarinas now. Truly you are one of the great ocarina makers in the world and I really hope to meet you in person someday."
Kuolong Pan, maker of Takashi Ocarinas
"One of the things I enjoy about my Spencer ocarina that makes it different from a lot of others on the market is the lack of back pressure needed for high D, E and F. Typically, you have to blow harder for these notes, so it's nice to be able to use lighter breath to get a nice sound."
